What's NEXT?
Students were asked to create a brand and integrative design for their new Research and Development Hub in Boston, MA. Each student was given design requirements, client information, and the freedom to create a purpose for NEXT, integrating this purpose into NEXT's brand and office design.
Steelcase's Project overview contains all design requirements and provided client information.
This document contains the final submission to the NEXT competition. This submission contains the complete design process, elaborating on the summation below.
NEXT's Goals
Using information from the provided NEXT client overview, I identified main goals and motifs to include in NEXT's brand and consumer relations.
NEXT's Purpose
NEXT believes connection, support, and community push society towards innovation.
NEXT is an innovative robotics company with a mission to improve human living.
NEXT creates products that automate mundane tasks, allowing people to focus more energy on personal, community, and societal improvement.
NEXT encourages innovation and growth in all areas of life, and supports this growth through facilitating everyday living.
When we look to the future, we see what’s NEXT.
Making Motifs
turning words into visual motifs
NEXT believes connection, support, and community push society towards innovation.
Creating a Logo
Using the purpose statement, I created key motifs that represent NEXT, using them to create a logo.
NEXT's Site
The site is located at 101 Seaport Blvd STE 600, Boston, MA 02210, in the heart of The Seaport area. The lobby entrance faces East, and the office is located on the 6th floor, on the NorthWest side of the building.
Existing Site Analysis
Analyzing the existing site and it's attributes helped me see opportunities and challenges to work with each space in the program.
Using the Existing Site Analysis, I was able to place spaces in areas the site could serve best.
