Restaurant Ideation
Students were brought to Salt City Market, a cultural market in Syracuse, each assigned a food stall to reimagine. After visiting an empty site, students designed a two story restaurant to reimagine the food stalls in a bigger space.

Level 1
The first floor serves Latoya's fusion dishes, a mix between Jamaican and American cuisine. Utilizing food vendors, reggae bands, and natural views create the foodways and ambience of a casual Jamaican lunch.
Level 1 - Fusion Vendors
"Fusion Vedors" are the wait staff of the first floor, representing street vendors, a significant aspect of Jamaica's casual foodways. Vendors present each table with a fusion food option and the story behind it's making.
Level 1
The first floor serves Latoya's fusion dishes, a mix between Jamaican and American cuisine. Utilizing food vendors, reggae bands, and natural views create the foodways and ambience of a casual Jamaican lunch.
Reggae Band
The Reggae Band serves as a connecting space between the first and second floor, creating liveliness along with the natural views.
Level 2
The second level hosts upscale dining, featuring traditional Jamaican dishes. After guests have been introduced to Jamaican lifestyles through the first floor, the second floor welcomes a more traditional experience. Large tables are placed beneath the skylight, centering long term, family style dining and nature.
Level 2 - Banquette Seating
Baquette seating is offered onn the second floor for those who would like to enjoy traditional Jamaican dishes in smaller groups or shorter dining times.
Level 2 - Balcony Seating
The balcony seating area allows for smaller groups to enjoy the reggae music from below, while immersed in the natural views, an important part of Jamaican fine dining.
